tracy morgan fxx show update FX's Tracy Morgan show on hold, but still in the worksFX CEO John Landgraf gave the 2014 summer TCA press tour an update on the Tracy Morgan comedy project that was set to begin filming this summer before Morgan’s tragic accident that left comedian Jimmy Mack dead and Morgan in the hospital with a broken leg and several broken ribs.

“We’re extremely encouraged by his progress and remain excited by his new show,” says Landgraf. “Whenever Tracy says he’s ready to come back, we’ll be ready to get going.”

Landgraf also says that “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” will still be held until January, which is when it was supposed to launch concurrently with Morgan’s show on FXX.

There is no word as to whether the Morgan show will retain its name, “Death Pact,” or its plot, which sees Morgan as a formerly lazy, pot-dealing high school coach who returns to his hometown as a war hero. He runs into three sad-sack friends and embroils them in his new philosophy of having harsh consequences for failure.
