One of “Game of Thrones” best directors is going to be trying his hand at comic book adaptations. Neil Marshall, who directed Season 2’s “Blackwater” and an upcoming Season 4 episode, will helm the pilot of NBC’s “Constantine.”<p. Deadline reports that Marshall will direct the series’ pilot episode. It was written by Daniel Cerone off of a story penned by Cerone and David S. Goyer.
Marshall has made his stamp as one of the best action TV directors in Hollywood. From “Blackwater,” which features “Game of Thrones” biggest battle sequence, to the first and third episodes of Starz’s “Black Sails,” Marshall has proven time and again that he can make the small screen as exciting as a movie. What this move seems to mean is that NBC is planning to have “Constantine” at least start with a bang in its series premiere.
Per Deadline, “Constantine’s” title character John Constantine is “an enigmatic and irreverent con man-turned-reluctant supernatural detective who is thrust into the role of defending us against dark forces from beyond.”
