Just like Isaac Hempstead-Wright, “Game of Thrones” star Natalia Tena got to work with two new actors in Season 3 of the HBO fantasy series: Thomas Brodie Sangster and Ellie Kendrick. Their characters, Jojen and Meera, have a big role to play in Osha and Bran’s upcoming storyline, though Tena teased that the two newcomers meet up with Osha’s group under strange circumstances.

“They were stalking us. That’s weird. They should be at school, do you know what I mean? What are they doing in the woods?” she joked to Zap2it on the “Game of Thrones Season 3 red carpet. “I’m very excited about the scenes that we’ve done [with Sangster and Kendrick]. There’s a scene involving a rabbit — lots of rabbits — that I’m very excited about how that’s going to look. I couldn’t really look at a rabbit in the same way for about a month. You’ll understand. When you see it, you will understand the weird rabbit boy.”

Osha became the protector of Bran and Rickon Stark at the end of Season 2, and now she, the two Stark heirs and Hodor are on the run from the forces trying to capture and kill them. Tena teased that Osha’s new role as their mother figure reveals some new elements of her personality.

“I think her mothering instinct is coming out. Her ovaries are like — she’s feeling the love for these kids,” Tena said. “If you read the books, they say that the Wildlings are very, very, very close to their children compared to actually the Southerners. So I think that’s what’s happening. I think she’s becoming very motherly. She loves these kids a lot, which is interesting. She tried to kill them at the beginning.”

Tena is also a big fan of George R.R. Martin‘s “A Song of Ice and Fire” series, and she said that she hopes things go well for Osha in the future books.

“I’ve read all of them. I can’t wait for the next one. I want [Martin] to finish it now, I want it to be out now,” she lamented. “I told him last night. I hugged a lot, I told him, ‘Please. And also can you make me queen of everything, obviously.'”

Martin told Zap2it that he’s making steady project on book 6, “The Winds of Winter,” so maybe Tena — and all you other “Game of Thrones” fans out there — won’t have that long to wait.

“Game of Thrones” returns to HBO on March 31 at 9 p.m. ET.
