The show tied its ratings high of 7.2 million live viewers for its May 18 episode “Mockingbird,” and earned 8.5 million viewers in total for the night.

The show is taking a hiatus for the week of May 25 (“The Normal Heart” will air in the Sunday 9 p.m. time slot instead), but it’s coming back with a big episode on June 1. Oberyn Martell will battle the Mountain for Tyrion’s life, while Sansa Stark and Petyr Baelish will have to deal with the aftermath of Lysa Stark’s murder.
Chances are ratings will continue to rise for the final three episodes of Season 4. This season has been great in ratings for “Game of Thrones,” with a low of 6.3 million (episode 2, “The Lion and the Rose”) and a high of 7.2 million. The “Game of Thrones” Season 4 finale, “The Children,” airs June 15.
Meanwhile, HBO had a great Sunday with “Veep” Season 3 hitting a season-high with 1.1 million viewers (1.5 million for the night), “Silicon Valley” hitting 1.7 million viewers (2 million for the night) and “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” earning 1 million viewers (1.3 million for the night).
