bran hodor hbo game of thrones season 4 'Game of Thrones' Season 5 won't have Hodor, what about Bran?
UPDATE: Isaac Hempstead-Wright, who plays Bran, has said in several interviews promoting his movie “The Boxtrolls” that he will have a role in “Game of Thrones” Season 5. That means the “we” Kristian Nairn is referring to is likely Hodor and Meera. The original article follows below.

Usually “Game of Thrones” likes to break your heart by killing off your favorite characters. It turns out Season 5 will try torture a different way by giving everyone’s favorite lovable giant, Hodor, the season off.

Kristian Nairn broke the news during an ABC interview on his “Rave of Thrones” DJ tour that Hodor will not be returning in the upcoming season of the HBO epic.
“We’re not actually in Season 5, by the way. We have a season off. We have a year’s hiatus, solely because, I imagine, our storyline is up to the end of the books,” Nairn said. “So I get a year off now to do Rave of Thrones and gallivant all over the world.”

Nairn says “we,” but he does not specify which characters he is including in that statement. The implication is that it’s Hodor, Meera and Bran, since when Season 4 ended, Hodor and Bran had reached the end of their storylines from George R.R. Martin’s “Song of Ice and Fire” book series, on which the show is based.

Most of the major characters have reached book 4 in their storylines, with Daenerys being the only other one caught up to book 5. Fans who are worried the show will catch up with its source material before the series is finished should not worry. Martin said earlier this year that he will be skipping Season 5 set visits in order to work on the next book in the series.
