miriam-shor-kristin-chenoweth-GCB.jpg“G.C.B” is ABC’s newest comedy, starring Kristin Chenoweth as Carlene Cockburn, the head of a group of good Christian women in a Dallas suburb who are none too happy to see their old high school nemesis Amanda Vaughn (Leslie Bibb) back in town.

But star Miriam Shor, who plays Cricket Caruth-Reilly, tells Zap2it that while Carlene and Cricket may be thick as thieves, they’ll butt heads occasionally – even in church.

“I think that the world that these women have created for themselves is delicate. It’s a house of cards. And it’s incredibly important to them,” says Shor. “Carlene and Cricket have both clawed and fought their way up to the top, so I think that’s a bond that ties them together on some level. I also think that they need each other in that society. They need each other emotionally, though I don’t know if you could get them to admit it. And I think she has a geniune love for Carlene as sisters in the trenches.”

“But we butt heads. We butt heads musically, how ’bout that?,” teases Shor. “It is really fun. Several of us get the opportunity to sing. There’s a built-in stage, which is the church because singing is a natural part of a lot of churches.”

Look for Kristin Chenoweth to flex her golden pipes in the “G.C.B.” premiere and look for more cast members to join in on the fun as the season goes on.
