Carrie Underwood joins the likes of Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid and young up-and-comer AnnaSophia Robb for her big screen debut in “Soul Surfer.”
Based on the true story of Bethany Hamilton — the 13-year-old who lost her left arm in a shark attack — “Soul Surfer” plays out her struggle to defy the odds and return to surfing after her tragic accident.
Underwood portrays Sarah Hill, the youth counselor who has been credited with helping Bethany get back on her board.
We aren’t expecting there to be much focus on the “American Idol” winner’s vocals in the film, so we should get a good taste of Underwood’s acting chops when it hits theaters April 8th.
Do you think she has what it takes to cross over into film, or should she stick to singing?
