joe francis sentenced jail asault 'Girls Gone Wild's' Joe Francis sentenced to jail for assault

“Girls Gone Wild” creator Joe Francis has a new address. He’s landed himself in jail for 270 days after being convicted in May for assaulting a woman in 2011. Francis will also serve three years’ probation, have to compete an anger management course and attend 52 psychological counseling sessions, the Associated Press reports.
Francis was convicted on five misdemeanor charges, including three counts of false imprisonment, one of assault by means likely to cause great bodily injury and another of dissuading a witness from reporting a crime. His attorney is seeking an appeal, and Francis has continued to maintain he’s innocent of the crimes.
According to Los Angeles Deputy City Attorney Mitchell Fox, Francis met three woman at the Supper Club in Hollywood in January 2011. He grabbed the arm of one, taking her to his limousine. The others followed and were taken to his home. Fox says Francis was only interested in one of the girls and when her friend tried to pull her back, Joe “jumped on the friend, took her to the ground, choked her, slammed her head against the ground, dragged her across the ground, and when she got back up, did it several more times.” He then told the women they were trespassing and to leave. When the girls said they would call the police, Francis told them do it, adding the he “owns the police.”
Francis won’t be jailed until his appeal has reached its conclusion. After his conviction in May, he lashed out, calling the jury “retarded” and said they “should be euthanized.”
