We already know there are going to be some major changes to “Glee” before its sixth and final season — an all-New York storyline, anyone? — but here’s a casting change that might not go over well: Naya Rivera might be leaving the series.
The star recently tweeted a mysterious message that sounded a whole lot like Season 5 will be her last on the show. “On set with Glee shooting a very sweet Brit/Santana scene! #starttogetherendtogether,” she wrote in the since-deleted post (but captured for posterity by E! Online).
While Rivera is definitely remaining a regular for the rest of Season 5 — although she won’t appear in every episode, which is quite normal for a show with such a large cast — it’s still up in the air whether she’s returning or not.
A source tells E! Online that no deals have been finalized for next season, but executive producer Brad Falchuk did say he and the other producers have already decided which characters they want to stay. “We do know exactly who is coming over and what the storylines will be,” he says.
Are you as excited about Season 6 of “Glee” if Rivera leaves the show?
