“Glee” fans, we’ve got some good news, and some bad news. The good news is that the first official promo photos from Season 4 of “Glee” have finally hit the internet, ready for you to Tumblrize them to your hearts’ content.
The bad news is that one of our favorites is missing from the (enormous) cast of characters.
Newbies Dean Geyer, Jacob Artist, Melissa Benoist, and Becca Tobin (in a Cheerios uniform!) make their debuts in the big cast photo, which depicts the McKinley High New Directions and those who have graduated on to bigger and potentially better things. Newly-minted series regular Chord Overstreet is in the mix with the gang.
Graduated cast members Lea Michele, Naya Rivera, Chris Colfer, Amber Riley, Harry Shum, Jr., and Cory Monteith are all in the mix. With Santana headed to St. Louis for school, Kurt and Rachel in NYC for Vogue and NYADA, respectively, and Finn who-knows-where, we’re guessing that leaves Los Angeles for Mercedes or Mike, though their placement with the New Directions kids may lead us to believe they’re staying in Lima for now.
Unfortunately, Dianna Agron’s Quinn is nowhere to be found, and though her character is presumed to be headed to Yale this season, “New Haven” isn’t listed on the crossroads sign that projects the characters’ futures. Now, executive producer Ryan Murphy told reporters that all of the previous “Glee” series regulars would be returning to the show as series regulars in Season 4.
“Gleeks, please relax. Dianna is still on the show. We love her and have great plans for Quinn,” he tweeted after some buzz arose from the pics, along with the hashtag #QuinnFabrayLives. Of course, Murphy hasn’t always followed through on his statements.
It’s also worth noting that Emma (Jayma Mays) is absent from the photo, though there’s no real reason why she’d be MIA from Season 4, unlike Quinn, whose storyline was pretty much wrapped up by the end of Season 3.
Another clue? While the “Glee” cast has been hard at work on the first episodes of Season 3, Agron has been tweeting from Europe since early August.
