glee mideason schedule fox 'Glee' to move to Tuesdays, 'Mindy Project' to go on hiatus as FOX shuffles midseason scheduleFOX is making some scheduling tweaks for midseason, with much of its focus on its ratings-soft Tuesday comedy block.

Come February 25, the network is returning “Glee” to the 8 p.m. time slot on Tuesdays, scaling back the comedy line up to just “New Girl” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” at 9 and 9:30, respectively. The cop comedy takes over its home on Feb. 4, replacing “The Mindy Project,” which will go on hiatus after its Jan. 28 winter finale, returning on April 1, after “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” wraps for the season.

Deadline reports “The Mindy Project” will take a month-long production hiatus around the holidays, which the writers will use to regroup and plot the show’s April re-launch, which could be decisive to the comedy’s future, considering Tuesday’s (Nov. 19) episode hit a new series low in the 18-49 demo.

Elsewhere, the network has shifted plans to premiere its new Greg Kinnear dramedy “Rake” behind the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, Jan. 19. Instead, FOX will launch the second season of “The Following” with a two-night premiere, continuing on Monday, Jan. 20, where the series will slip into its regular 9 p.m. slot. “Rake” will premiere in its regular time slot on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 9 p.m., following “American Idol.”

Missing from FOX’s midseason plans is “Dads,” which will air its final new episodes in Feb. 11, with no return date for spring. Also missing are comedies “Surviving Jack” and “Us and Them,” which, at this point, will be lucky to make it to air.
