tina fey amy poehler golden globes 2014 preview Golden Globes 2014: What will Tina Fey and Amy Poehler do this year?

It’s no surprise that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were the runaway hits at the 2013 Golden Globes. There were too many memorable moments to count between the two, though the standout was obviously Poehler getting very cozy with George Clooney.
How will their act change when hosting the 2014 Golden Globes? When Ricky Gervais returned to host the show a second and third time, viewer expectations continued to rise. While Fey and Poehler’s humor while hosting wasn’t quite as edgy as Gervais’, they have to be ready to up their game.
Perhaps they can work in a little bit of sketch comedy into their routine. After all, these two are “Saturday Night Live” veterans. If you’re going to have them both there, let them loose to do what they do better than almost anyone. Last year Fey wore a mustache at one point and during the 2013 Emmys they heckled Neil Patrick Harris from the audience. Let them push the boundaries a bit more.
As usual there will likely also be more celebrity interaction. Sure, hanging out with Clooney and Jennifer Lopez in the audience is great, but 2013 was the year of Jennifer Lawrence. She made a splash at practically every award show she attended. If Poehler and Fey are going to work anyone into their act, it’s her. Besides, you know Ellen DeGeneres is going to at the Oscars, so beat her to the punch.

Regardless of what happens, it’s pretty much a guarantee that Fey and Poehler will be a hit. After all, they’re two of the funniest women in show business; being hilarious comes naturally to them. If all else fails, they can just make fun of Taylor Swift again.
The 71st Golden Globe Awards airs Sunday (Jan. 12) at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
