tenacious d golden gods awards Golden Gods Awards 2013: Tenacious D and Deftones among the year's winners

Revolver Magazine presented the 5th annual Golden Gods Awards Thursday (May 2). The show is essentially the heavy metal Grammys, presenting awards for various categories in the hard rock genre.
Hosted by WWE wrestler, rock singer and host of “Robot Combat League” Chris Jericho, the show was loaded with tributes to Jeff Hanneman. A founding member of metal band Slayer, it was announced shortly before the show that Hanneman had died. Fellow Slayer member Kerry King led the audience in a “moment of noise” as a tribute to Hannemen, because a moment of silence just would not do.

Chris E. Hayner is equal parts nerd, crazy person and coffee. He watches too much TV, knows more about pro wrestling than you do and remembers every single show from the TGIF lineup. You may have seen him as a pro-shark protester in "Sharknado 3." His eventual memoir will be called "You're Wrong, Here's Why..." TV words to live by: "I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing."
