green day tour dates Green Day announces new tour dates Billie Joe Armstrong thanks fans

Green Day is getting back on the road. The band puts it 2012/2013 tour on hiatus for the sake of frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, and now it had revealed that it will start touring again starting March 28.

“We want to thank everyone for hanging in with us for the last few months,” Green Day says in a statement. “We are very excited to hit the road and see all of you again, though we regret having to cancel more shows.”

Armstrong was admitted to rehab in September, and the band decided to put the health of its singer first. Though his admission was “killing everyone,” Green Day waited until Armstrong felt he was ready to return to the group before kicking off the tour again, and he appreciates the fact the fans supported that decision.

“Dear friends… I just want to thank you all for the love and support you’ve shown for the past few months,” he says in a statement. “Believe me, it hasn’t gone unnoticed and I’m eternally grateful to have such an amazing set of friends and family. I’m getting better everyday. So now, without further ado, the show must go on. We can’t wait to get on the road and live out load! Our passion has only grown stronger.”
