caterina scorsone season 11 greys anatomy 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 11: 'Private Practice' alum Caterina Scorsone upped to series regular Is there enough room at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital for two Dr. Shepherds? Looks like we’ll find out next season.

“Private Practice” alum Caterina Scorsone has been upped to series regular on “Grey’s Anatomy” for Season 11, TVLine reports.

Scorsone, who reprised her “Private Practice” role as Dr. Amelia Shepherd (Derek’s sister) on “Grey’s Anatomy” earlier in Season 10, will be a major player in the new season after series regulars Sandra Oh, Gaius Charles and Tessa Ferrer departed last season.

When Zap2it asked Scorsone if she would be sticking around after her Season 10 storyline wrapped back in May, she was optimistic. “I sure hope so. I honestly do not know what is going to happen,” Scorsone said. “The hiatus is coming and upfronts are coming, writers are sitting down in the writers room starting to plan next year, so I don’t know what they have in store. But I’m absolutely game for whatever it might be!”

“Grey’s Anatomy” returns for Season 11 this fall on ABC.
