“Grey’s Anatomy” said surprising goodbyes to Chyler Leigh and Kim Raver in the Season 8 finale, leaving some positions open at Seattle Grace. Now, given the hospital’s track record for shootings and plane crashes and bombs, we’re not sure why anyone would want to work there — but they’re hiring anyway!
As previously reported, “Friday Night Lights'” Gaius Charles has landed a recurring role as a new doctor — and now, British actress Camilla Luddington is joining him, also as a doctor. Luddington can currently be seen in a six-episode arc on “True Blood,” and is best known for her role as Kate Middleton in the “William & Kate” lifetime movie.
Her role on “Grey’s” is currently at recurring guest star status, but as we know, Shonda Rhimes tends to promote her recurring guest stars to series regular status fairly quickly if all works out.
Deadline was the first to report the casting.
