HBO is upping its drama game once more with the upcoming TV movie, “The Normal Heart.”
Starring Mark Ruffalo, Matt Bomer, Taylor Kitsch, Julia Roberts and Jim Parsons, the film tells the story of the onset of the HIV-AIDS crisis in New York City in the early 1980s. From “Glee” and “American Horror Story”-creator Ryan Murphy and based on the play by Larry Kramer, “The Normal Heart” will shine a light on what gay activists and their allies in the medical community went through trying to expose the new epidemic in spite of the government’s denial.
Based on the trailer HBO released on Sunday (March 9), the movie won’t shy away from any heavy material, and stars are bringing their A-game to the table to tackle this important subject matter.
