alexander ludwig vikings gi History's 'Vikings' adds 'Hunger Games' actor; 'Daily Show' ratings steady with John OliverThe History Channel’s scripted series “Vikings” is growing its cast for Season 2 with the addition of “Hunger Games” actor Alexander Ludwig and former “Law & Order” star Linus Roache.

Ludwig, who played District 2 tribute Cato in “The Hunger Games,” will play Bjorn, the son of Ragnar (Travis Fimmel). Roache is set to play Ecbert, the king of Wessex.

Season 2 of “Vikings” is scheduled to go into production in the summer for a premiere in early 2014.

John Oliver‘s debut as host of “The Daily Show” drew ratings in line with the show’s average. Monday’s (June 10) show scored 1.5 million viewers and a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49, compared to 1.3 million and 0.6 the previous Monday.

“The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” which premieres early next year, has named Amy Ozols as its producer. She has been a writer and producer on “Late Night” for Fallon’s entire tenure there and will work on “Tonight” alongside executive producer Lorne Michaels.

– The Season 2 premiere of TNT’s “Major Crimes” drew 5 million viewers Monday night. That’s down from the 7.2 million who watched its series premiere last summer, when it debuted after the series finale of “The Closer” — but in line with its average for the rest of the first season. New series “King & Maxwell” debuted to 3.5 million people.

– Nickelodeon’s new show “Sam & Cat” — a spinoff of both “iCarly” and “Victorious” — had a healthy debut on Saturday, June 8. It scored 4.2 million viewers (the biggest series launch for the channel in three years) and led everything on TV in the kid and teen demos Nick targets.
