In a case of art imitating life imitating trash — or something like that — San Francisco artist Jason Mecier has created an amazing mosaic portrait of Alana Thompson, aka Honey Boo Boo, out of 25 pounds of trash.
The piece took Mecier more than 50 hours to complete and includes things like tiaras, mascara, fake eyelashes, coupons, “sketti,” butter, Red Bulls, a McDonald’s chicken nugget, a jar of pigs’ feet and a Cabbage Patch doll.
“I just love the show,” Mecier tells ABCNews.com of TLC’s “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.” “I’m obsessed with the show right now. It’s like every time you watch an episode, I think there’s no way it could get any better, and then it just does.”
Mecier, who has been making mosaic portraits out of trash for 10 years, plans to sell the trashy Honey Boo Boo for $5,000, and he’s already received three offers.
