“Oklahoma!,” the Royal National Theatre production that made Hugh Jackman a star, is coming to PBS again.
On Nov. 15, PBS will re air the filmed version of the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic from 1999. This is a part of the network’s “Great Performances” series, and will air at 9 p.m. ET. If you ever wanted to know why people were so excited about seeing Jackman take on a musical in “Les Miserables,” now you have your answer.
When he starred in “Oklahoma!,” the then-30-year-old Jackman had not yet had his big breakout on the big screen in “X-Men.” Back then, he was best known for his work on the TV shows “Correlli” and “Snowy River: The McGregor.” Will you tune in to rewatch “Oklahoma!”?
