Country singer Jake Owen was detained by police on Saturday night after an overly indulgent Cinco De Mayo celebration — and he was kind enough to share a photo and an embarrassing Twitter rant about the incident.
He recovered quickly, though — as the sun came up on Monday morning, Owen married model Lacey Buchanan in a romantic beachside ceremony.
“A best friend for life. I now have a wifey,” he tweeted, along with a gorgeous photo of the happy couple. “My face hurts from smiling. What a wonderful way to start the rest of my life.”
They got engaged early in April in an impromptu moment — Owen proposed to her during a concert in front of a ton of their friends and family. He hadn’t planned on it ahead of time. In fact, he didn’t even have a ring on hand at the time! Conveniently, though, the lyrics to the song he sang her worked out well. “I just said I can’t buy you a big diamond ring or a big old house on the
hill, but I promise you I’ll love you forever and ever,” he sang.
