Divorce is always tough, but divorce when you’re trying to promote a reality show is even tougher.
Jennie Garth is doing press for her new CMT show, “Jennie Garth: Little Bit Country,” so she’s found herself in the awkward position of having to talk about her soon-to-be-ex husband, Peter Facinelli, a whole lot.
“It’s not something I’m dying to talk about, but it’s something that’s going on in my life,” she tells Ellen DeGeneres on Friday’s show. “I’m not ashamed to talk about it. I think by being open and honest with what I’m going through maybe it helps somebody else. I know, I’ve heard from a lot of people that it helps them, maybe with what they’re going through. I’m not afraid to talk about it.”
Garth admits that she had a tough time when they initially decided to split. “Yeah, I mean, we’re still a family of some kind, and we’re still so committed for being there for our girls,” she says. “That’s the most important thing for us. I think at first, I wasn’t sure how I was going to make it through, but I really learned that I am so much stronger than I thought I was. And, if I can help other women touch into that… you know, their strength.”
