christopher dorner jesse jackson gi Jesse Jackson to Christopher Dorner: 'Please stop' and turn yourself in to Stevie Wonder

Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr. is appealing to triple homicide suspect Christopher Dorner to surrender, telling CBS Los Angeles he would be happy to meet the fugitive himself. Or, he says, Dorner could turn himself in to one of Jackson’s friends in the LA area — like Tavis Smiley or Stevie Wonder.
Dorner is the subject of a massive manhunt in Los Angeles’ Big Bear Lake area that has officers from multiple agencies searching through snowy mountains in 12-hour shifts. He is wanted in connection with a double-homicide, as well as three police officer shootings, one of which was fatal.
After being fired from the LAPD for making false accusations against another officer, Dorner issued a manifesto, pledging to “bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to those in the LAPD uniform.” He also sent a package containing a note, a DVD and a coin with a bullet hole in it to CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
The former cop and Navy Reserve lieutenant wrote messages in his manifesto to many celebrity and pop culture figures, including Tim Tebow, Charlie Sheen, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and Todd Phillips, whom he warned against making another “Hangover” sequel.

Jackson published an open letter to Dorner on Day 2 of the snowy manhunt. “Apparently you have been wounded by your past experiences of what you have stated in losing your job,” writes Jackson. “I understand your feelings of being hurt. I’m making a plea to you to stop spreading the pain, the hurt and the fear. Please stop don’t take anymore lives [sic].”
Dorner is believed to have murdered the daughter of an ex-LAPD captain and her fiance before ambushing two separate sets of police officers. Charlie Beck, the chief of the Los Angeles Police Department has been placed under protection, according to a report by the Los Angeles Times.
