“Good Morning America” anchor Josh Elliott quit his position at ABC on Sunday (March 30) and was replaced on the morning show by Amy Robach as of Monday morning.
Although the change seemed abrupt to those watching, Elliott had reportedly been negotiating his job and salary with ABC for several months. The Hollywood Reporter says that Elliott had been offered more money — several million dollars in salary — but still decided to leave for a position with NBC Sports.
“He is going back to his roots, reporting on the NFL and the Olympics on NBC Sports,” “GMA” host George Stephanopoulos said Monday (which was a pre-scheduled off day for Elliott). “He let us know last night, and, Josh, it has been a great run with you here on GMA. We’re very happy you’re going to be pursuing your passion.”
Will you miss Elliott on “GMA,” and what do you think of Robach as his replacement?
