judge-judy-sheindlin-CBS-special-getty.jpgCBS announced this week that “Judge Judy” is ready for primetime.

Judge Judith Sheindlin (pictured above with husband Jerry), who took the world by storm in the mid-1990s when a “60 Minutes” profile led to Hollywood discovering her and subsequently her own Emmy-winning daytime courtroom show, is coming to primetime in May when CBS broadcasts a one-hour special about Sheindlin’s rise to fame.

The special will include new cases, classic “Judyisms” — the judge’s classic one-liners that viewers love — and a look back at the original “60 Minutes” profile and the 2003 segment when the news show revisited Sheindlin.

The special will air Tuesday, May 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
