As we count down to the 2014 Emmy Awards, Zap2it
is taking a closer look at each of the lead acting nominees for comedy
and drama — and judging them not by their best work, but by some of the
more dubious credits on their IMDB pages. So we ask you: Based on what
you’re about to see, would you give this person an Emmy?

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is no stranger to the Emmys. In fact, did you know she owns the record for most performance Emmy nominations with 15? She has seven for “Seinfeld,” five for “The New Adventures of Old Christine” and three for “Veep,” with four wins under her belt.

But right before JLD really burst onto the national TV scene with “Seinfeld,” she starred as Eileen Swift on the short-lived NBC sitcom “Day by Day,” which also starred a young Courtney Thorne-Smith and a very young Thora Birch. You can watch her above in the “very Brady” episode of “Day by Day,” which originally aired Feb. 5, 1989.

Fun fact: Christopher Daniel Barnes, who played the teenage son on “Day by Day,” would eventually play Greg Brady in the two “Brady Bunch” movies of the 1990s. Perhaps his resemblance to Barry Williams is what sparked the idea for the “Brady” episode of the show. Who knows?

But anyway — would you give Julia Louis-Dreyfus an Emmy for “Day by Day”?
