Keith Olbermann is getting away from politics for the time being and to dive back into the world of baseball. Turner Sports announced that Olbermann will be joining TBS’ Major League Baseball postseason studio show. Also taking part in the show will be Hall of Fame pitcher Dennis Eckersley.
This is familiar ground for Olbermann, who hosted similar postseason baseball shows on NBC and FOX in the 1990s. As for whether he will one day return to politics, Olbermann said in a conference call that he has “absolutely no idea where my career is going. I have certainly learned not to make any predictions.”
“Baseball is my passion,” Olbermann said. “On a professional level, this is great for me because it’s what I do. I did this at home to the TV by myself. Now there will be people watching. I’ll get paid for it and I get to wear a tie rather than sitting around in a uniform pretending to be a player.”
The MLB playoffs begin in October.
