kentucky oaks gi Kentucky Derby schedule: Where and when to watchIf you weren’t lucky enough to score an invite to Churchill Downs for Saturday’s (May 7) running of the Kentucky Derby, fret not — you can watch the entire race (and the surrounding spectacle) from the comfort of your own home, complete with fancy hat and homemade Mint Julep.

ESPN’s coverage of the Derby kicks off at 11 a.m. ET — so if you’re into pre-horse race hype, you may want to tune in for the latest in stats plus an early view of the scene. NBC swings into action at 4 p.m. ET with its “Kentucky Derby Red Carpet Special.” The race itself — if anyone is still interested — kicks off at 5 p.m. ET and will be carried by NBC.

That leaves plenty of time to procure an appropriately over-the-top hat and prep the simple syrup for those Mint Juleps.

We’ll meet you back here at post time.
