Lady Gaga is moving back to her hometown of New York City — and she’s doing it in style. The singer has reportedly rented a penthouse apartment in Manhattan for $22,000 per month!
Life & Style reports that Gaga has taken residence in the 1985-square-foot duplex atop the 40 Central Park South building. It’s not just the location that raises the rental rate either. The inside of the apartment features two giant bedrooms, a fancy chef’s kitchen, a fireplace and a marble bathroom.
The view of Central Park probably isn’t too bad either.
Unlike the many pop stars who seem to make bad neighbors, it sounds like existing residents are thrilled to have Lady Gaga in the building. “It’s so cool! She comes and goes with all this security,” a resident told Life & Style. “I can’t believe she’s my neighbor!”
It’s likely that Lady Gaga took this apartment because she liked it, not because of the prestige. The singer has been quoted as saying she’s not interested in the money and is just happy that she can finally afford her old NYC apartment. That one went for $1100 per month.
