larry david summer tca 2013 Larry David to make Broadway debut in autobiographical play“Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Seinfeld” creator Larry David will make his Broadway debut next March in an autobiographical play “Fish in the Dark,” according to The New York Times

The play will revolve around a death in a family involving around 15 characters. David tells The TImes he’ll be playing a character very close to himself, or “it might even be Larry David with a different name.”
“I thought it would be pretty cool to write a play someday,” he says. “I didn’t think it’d be pretty cool to be in it.”
However, producer Scott Rudin convinced David to take the role. “I’ll be without anything I’m used to,” says the actor who has spent most of his career working on half-hour sitcoms. The play will be directed by Amy Shapiro, who won the Tony in 2008 for her staging of “August: Osage County.” David also mentions that, contrary to rumors, Jerry Seinfeld was never involved with the play as a potential director or performer.
Additional casting news will continue to come.
“Fish in the Dark” opens March 5 at the Shubert Theater in New York City, with run details to be announced later.
