Though he’s no longer host of “The Tonight Show,” Jay Leno is still working with NBC. He appears on the next episode of “Last Comic Standing” as a mentor, joining the likes of Howie Mandel, Wanda Sykes and Gilbert Gottfried.
Leno, a titan in the stand up comedy world, sits down with the five finalists in the competition to offer his advice and share a few stories. In the clip above, which you’re seeing first on Zap2it, he specifically warns against the pitfalls of “working dirty,” while also telling the comedians about following Richard Pryor in his early days.
“Last Comic Standing” airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.

Chris E. Hayner is equal parts nerd, crazy person and coffee. He watches too much TV, knows more about pro wrestling than you do and remembers every single show from the TGIF lineup. You may have seen him as a pro-shark protester in "Sharknado 3." His eventual memoir will be called "You're Wrong, Here's Why..." TV words to live by: "I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing."
