A big step in a comedian’s career is the chance to appear on a talk show. Many comics have made their career on one perfect talk show segment. In the next episode of “Last Comic Standing,” the finalists are getting a chance to earn that moment.
Wanda Sykes will appear as a mentor for the comedians as they get together their TV-appropriate material to perform in front of the studio audience of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” First they have to make it past the pre-interview, though. Unfortunately for some, like Lachlan Patterson, that may be easier said than done, as you can see above in Zap2it’s first-look video.
“Last Comic Standing” airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.

Chris E. Hayner is equal parts nerd, crazy person and coffee. He watches too much TV, knows more about pro wrestling than you do and remembers every single show from the TGIF lineup. You may have seen him as a pro-shark protester in "Sharknado 3." His eventual memoir will be called "You're Wrong, Here's Why..." TV words to live by: "I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing."
