lifestooshort01 'Life's Too Short': Warwick Davis splits our sidesIt’s very hard to write when tears are streaming down your face. The cause? The new series “Life’s Too Short,” created by Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and star Warwick Davis. The comedy originally premiered on BBC Two, but it’s finally hit the states, thanks to HBO.

In the series, we follow Warwick Davis in a mockumentary about his life, his crumbling marriage and his agency “Dwarves for Hire.” The show boasts amazing guest stars, including Liam Neeson in the premiere. Sting and Johnny Depp are just some of the heavy hitters who will be showing up in upcoming episodes.

The show definitely has an “Extras” sensibility. It’s the dry, British humor that you either love or hate. We are absolutely, positively in love with this show. From the super weird (and absolutely hysterical assistant Cheryl (Rosamund Hanson) describing her pets to the little person auditions that involve “Ebony and Ivory” to Ricky explaining how often he got action in the eighties, we were rewinding over and over to catch lines we were laughing too loud to hear.

Some of the best moments showed Davis trying to get work from Gervais and Merchant. But the bit that completely blew us away was Neeson, deadpanning a desire to begin a career in stand up comedy. He breaks every rule of improv and pulls out a list of the comedy he wants to do. “I’m always making lists,” he says. “That’s probably why Spielberg cast me in “Schindler’s List.” See what we’re saying? Not only are we already anticipating next week, but we’ve been obsessively looking up show clips on YouTube.

Check out the trailer for Season 1 below. We’ve also got the hilarious frog sketch Davis and Gervais did to promote the show when it was on BBC Two. Let us know what you think!
