lindsay lohan drunk vodka attack Lindsay Lohan drinking again: Alcohol to blame for recent attack?

It turns out that alcohol could be to blame for Lindsay Lohan‘s recent assault on a woman in a New York City nightclub. Lohan’s life hasn’t been going great recently, with her acting career reboot failing, Charlie Sheen needing to bail her out of tax debt and a probation violation on the way. That’s apparently why she’s turned to vodka and other alcohols to help get her through this trying time.

TMZ reports that Lohan has been drinking as much as two liters of vodka a day, and that this is something that’s been going on for months. She reportedly will wake up and start drinking first thing in the morning, and then continue drinking for the rest of the day. It’s the alcohol that makes her violent, which is apparently what happened during the nightclub incident.

Lohan was arrested in NYC for punching a woman, later revealed to be Florida psychic Tiffany Mitchell. Though reports on what went down that night vary, The New York Post claims Lohan was so drunk that she couldn’t find her handbag — which happened to have $10,000 in cash in it, because why not? Lohan ended up blaming Mitchell for the missing purse, and punched her in the face.

“The bouncer was having a fight with somebody else and I grabbed my wife next to me,” Mitchell’s husband Wayne Stevens said in his police report after the fight. “My friend had their wife, and there were girls behind us. After it was over she [Lohan] went over and pushed my wife hard. I don’t even know why she pushed her … About five minutes later she comes around and told my wife ‘I need space’ or something like that. And then she just punched her.”

However, Lohan’s lawyers attest that she was not drunk or under the influence of drugs when she was arrested. “She was in great condition,” her attorney, Mark Heller, tells E! News. “She was certainly not intoxicated, certainly not under the influence of drugs. She was clear [and] lucid, her eyes were clear. No alcohol involvement whatsoever on this occasion.”
