Lisa Kudrow will pull double duty at this years Webby Awards.
]]>“Web Therapy” star will host the 15th annual awards ceremony,
in addition to accepting the honor of “best individual performance in
an online video.” The series itself, which she created, also nabbed the
award for “best comedy: long form” for the second year in a row, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Kudrow has really embraced online entertainment, using her iconic style
and sense of humor to create ‘Web Therapy,’ one of the funniest web
series today,” says David-Michel Davies, executive director of the
International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, the
organization behind the Webbys.
The show won’t be limited to the web for long, as it was recently picked up by Showtime and will begin airing in July.
The Webby awards, sometimes referred to as “The Oscars of the Internet,” honor Internet excellence in the categories of websites, interactive advertising, online film and video, and mobile. Teaming
up with Facebook, the ceremony will be broadcast live on the Webbys’
Facebook page live from Manhattan’s Hammerstein Ballroom on June 13.
