matthew mcconaughey emmys gi Matthew McConaughey in 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation': Would you give this man an Emmy?As we count down to the 2014 Emmy AwardsZap2it is taking a closer look at each of the lead acting nominees for comedy and drama — and judging them not by their best work, but by some of the more dubious credits on their IMDB pages. So we ask you: Based on what you’re about to see, would you give this person an Emmy?

There’s no denying that Matthew McConaughey has undergone a rather remarkable career transformation in the past few years, going from That Guy In RomComs to an Oscar winner and, now, Emmy nominee. In “True Detective,” McConaughey fully committed himself to the character of Rust Cohle and that commitment paid off in near universal accolades.
Turns out McConaughey had that same sort of commitment in one of his earlier roles: 1994’s “Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation.” The accolades didn’t come in the same way for this project, though. Words fail after watching some clips from his villainous turn as Vilmer.

At least his heart is in the right place, right? Thank goodness he has some better material to work off of now.
