Megyn Kelly premiered her new primetime Fox News Channel program “The Kelly File” on Oct. 7. The series started off with a bang, as Kelly leveled her first guest, Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, with the question , “What’s it like to be the most hated man in America?”

Though he initially avoided the question, Kelly didn’t let the matter drop. “All right, so now answer the question,” she says after he congratulated her about her new show. They went in to get into a series political discussion about why even members of Cruz’s own party are against him.

Kelly’s new programming block is part of the biggest shakeup at the Fox News Channel in its 17 years of existence. Her solo show is Fox News’ bid to try to draw in younger viewers, as Kelly is also a personality that both conservatives and liberal like.

“I’m a news anchor, I’m not an ideologue,” Kelly tells The Los Angeles Times. “I don’t want to be an opinion anchor.”
