“Melissa & Joey” has made ABC Family history.
With an announcement from the network on Tuesday (May 28) that the comedy, starring Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence, had earned an expansion on its third season, as well as a Season 4, its become the network’s first comedy to reach 100 episodes.
“One hundred episodes is a great accomplishment for any series, and we are thrilled to give ‘Melissa & Joey’ the opportunity to achieve this milestone, as they’ve delivered hundreds and hundreds of laughs over the seasons,” said Kate Juergens, Executive Vice President, Programming and Development and Chief Creative Office, ABC Family.
The series’ upcoming third season, which premieres Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET, will feature a slew of notable guest stars including Shannon Elizabeth, Trevor Donovan (“90210”), Jaime Pressly (“My Name Is Earl”) and Doris Roberts (“Everybody Loves Raymond”), who will be appearing in two episodes as Joe’s grandma.
Season 3’s additional episodes will air sometime in 2014.
