Television personality Meredith Vieira is leaving “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” after 11 seasons of hosting the popular quiz show. The former “Today” anchor will be on the air through the end of this season before a new host takes over in the fall.
A spokeswoman for Disney/ABC says, “It’s the final year of Meredith’s contract. She has chosen to move
on and pursue other opportunities. We are searching for a new host.”
There is no word as to what Vieira is moving on to. She is perhaps best known for her work on “Today” and was a host on “The View” prior to anchoring the NBC morning show. Frankly, we enjoyed her subbing for Kathie Lee on the fourth hour of “Today” last week, so we wouldn’t mind seeing her do that more.
As for a new host, do you have anybody in mind?
