designing women meshach taylor 'Designing Women' star Meshach Taylor dead at 67Meshach Taylor, best known as Sugarbaker Interior design assistant Anthony Bouvier on the hit CBS sitcom “Designing Women,” died at 67 years old on Saturday (June 28) after battling a terminal illness.

The Boston native’s agent confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter, revealing that he had been receiving hospice treatment at his family’s home in Altadena, and died with “his loving family by his side.”

In addition to “Designing Women,” which ran from 1986 to 1993, Taylor starred in another CBS sitcom, “Dave’s World,” as well as movies such as “Mannequin” and “Damien: The Omen Part II.”

In recent years, Taylor had guest-starred on shows such as “Criminal Minds,” “Jessie” and “Hannah Montana.” He recurred on the kids’ series “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide” as a social studies teacher-turned-principal at the titular school throughout the show’s 2004-2007 run.
