james harden elbowed Metta World Peace on James Harden elbowing: 'I hope he's OK'
LA Lakers player Metta World Peace apologized for elbowing Oklahoma City Thunder’s James Harden in the head at last night’s game, blaming emotions running high. He tweeted,
saying “Hope James Hardin is ok… I remember when I hit by Marc Gasol
the same way.. I was spitting up blood and a headache during the

The violent moment took place after World Peace scored points in the 2nd quarter, bringing the Lakers closer the Thunder in a 48-47 game (which the Lakers went on to win). Harden was knocked down after the powerful hit to the left side of his face.

He apologized after the game — according to the LA Times, saying the elbowing was a result of his celebratory emotions escalating too high.

World Peace revealed his own injuries on Twitter after the game: “Wow.. Didn’t really think Kendrick Perkins broke my nose…. Super sore… Basketball too emotional …….”

He added “I just watched the replay again. Oooo.. My celebration of the dunk really was too much. Didn’t even see James.. Omg; Looks bad.”

NBA officials are reviewing the incident and might take further action, including suspending World Peace and possibly Lakers coach Mike Brown.

Metta World Peace (formerly know as Ron Artest) was the first contestant eliminated in Season 13 of “Dancing with the Stars.” He has had multiple on-court incidents in his career, but changed his name in 2011 claiming he wanted to inspire youth and that his new name has roots in the Buddhist meaning of kindness.

Watch the video below, and share your thoughts. Should Metta World Peace be suspended for decking Harden? Should the Lakers face any other consequences?
