After just two weeks, Monday nights on CBS are in for major shake-up.
The Eye announced on Wednesday (Oct. 9) that freshman entry “We Are Men” would be pulled from the line-up after the show’s two lackluster airings, paving the way for Season 4 of “Mike & Molly” (held for mid-season for just this reason) to bow earlier than planned.
CBS isn’t planning just a straight swap, though. It’s shaking up more than a few things. “2 Broke Girls” will slide up from its current 9 p.m. slot into the vacant 8:30 position, with “Mike & Molly” kicking off Monday’s second hour. Season 4 won’t premiere until Nov. 4. In the interim, repeats of “The Big Bang Theory” will lead into “Mom” at 9:30.
No decision has been made about the network’s 10 p.m. hour, though new drama “Hostages” has proven to be a disappointment for the network. It seems that CBS is hoping its tinkering of the comedy line-up might give the serialized thriller (a departure for the network) the ratings boost it needs to live on.
