Miley Cyrus came at the Billboard Hot 100 like a wrecking ball, and walked away with her first No. 1 ever on the chart.
The 20-year-old pop star has reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 before, but her single “Wrecking Ball” is the first one to score her the top slot. The song jumped up 21 spots since last year, and bumped Katy Perry‘s “Roar” out of No. 1.
Cyrus flaunted her success on Twitter, tweeting, “#1 on Billboard. #1 on iTunes. #1 on Spotify. #1 on Streaming. #1 on Digital songs. #1 most added to pop radio. #1 on VEVO. #WreckingBall.”
“Bangerz,” the album that “Wrecking Ball” is included on, won’t be released until Oct. 8. The music video for “Wrecking Ball” has already accrued more than 100 million views since it was released on Sept. 9.
