miranda kerr quit victorias secret gi Miranda Kerr: 'Victoria's Secret didn't fire me I quit'Supermodel Miranda Kerr now confirms it is she who decided to end her contract with Victoria’s Secret, despite reports she was fired for being a pain in the rear end.

In an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, the native Australian reveals she was “surprised” by rumors she lost her contract due to being difficult to work with. “I’m sure anyone that has worked with me would agree that it’s not true,” Kerr says.

As Zap2it previously reported, Kerr was rumored to be reconsidering her role as a Victoria’s Secret “Angel” in light of reports the brand’s clothing is tainted with toxic chemicals. When news broke of her alleged firing, a brand spokesperson defended Miranda’s reputation, but was vague about the reason for the non-renewal of her contract, or whose decision it was.

Miranda calls the move away from Victoria’s Secret a “natural evolution,” that fits well with the next phase of her life. “It’s really important I give 100 percent to my clients and I have to be careful to make strategic long-term decisions with my personal and business interests,” says Kerr. “I’ve reached a point in my career where I’m developing my own opportunities that are really reflective of my passions.”

Kerr says she also chose to end her longstanding contract with Australian fashion chain, David Jones for the same reason. For now she plans to focus on her skincare brand, Kora Organics, and her forthcoming book, “Empower Yourself,” which follows her New York Times bestseller, “Treasure Yourself.” She’s also planning a move with her son Fynn to New York, where her husband, Orlando Bloom, will make his Broadway debut in “Romeo and Juliet.”

Kerr tells the Herald she is “grateful” to VS for launching her U.S. modeling career, and says she maintains a relationship with the brand — just not a contract.
