It’s been a good week for country couple Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton.
Not only did both get nominated for CMT Music Awards Tuesday (May 11) morning — Lambert for Female Video of the Year and Video of the Year for “White Liar” and Shelton for Collaborative Video of the Year for “Hillbilly Bone” — but the duo also got engaged on over the weekend.
Shelton, 33, popped the question on Sunday, but not before doing the proper gentlemanly thing.
“He called my dad and got his blessing first,” Lambert, 26, tells People. “That was so Southern and old-school and perfect.”
The couple has been together five years, and it seems he’s learned her taste during that time.
“…he knew exactly what I wanted, but it’s so much more perfect than I could have picked out myself.”
]]>ACM Awards in April. With two possible CMT Music Awards wins still ahead and a ring on her finger, it’s defininitely her year.
“2010 will not be forgotten in my world,” she says.
