We’re halfway through the official premiere week of the 2013 fall TV season, and Wednesday (Sept. 25) is chock full of the returns of some favorites and the launch at least one newbie hoping to become a favorite.

What follows is all the intel you need on tonight’s premieres:

8 p.m. ET/PT:

“Revolution” (Season 2 premiere, NBC): Rebounding from last season’s finale, Miles (Billy Burke), Aaron (Zak Orth) and Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell) find themselves in a small town in Texas where Rachel has an unexpected run-in with an important person from her past. Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) is on a mission in the Plains Nation, while Neville (Giancarlo Esposito) and Jason (JD Pardo) search a refugee camp for a lost loved one. Meanwhile, Monroe (David Lyons) discovers a gritty role in his new environment.

“The Middle” (Season 5 premiere, ABC): Axl (Charlie McDermott) heads to college and the entire Heck family tags along for the drive, but the short drive turns into an eternity when Sue (Eden Sher) freaks out over Frankie’s (Patricia Heaton) failure to fax an important essay and Brick (Atticus Shaffer) loses his new cell phone.

8:30 p.m. ET/PT:

“Back in the Game” (Series premiere, ABC): Maggie Lawson stars as Terry Gannon Jr., a divorced single mom and former softball all-star, who decides to coach her son’s baseball team full of misfits after moving back in with her estranged father, Terry St., aka “The Cannon” (James Caan).

9 p.m. ET/PT:

“Criminal Minds” (Season 9 premiere, CBS): The hunt for a methodical killer takes the BAU to Arizona to search for an increasingly devolving UnSub, and the team speculates that Hotch (Thomas Gibson) is in the running to be the new BAU unit chief. Camryn Manheim guest stars.

“Law & Order: SVU” (Season 15 premiere, NBC): In the first half of a two-hour premiere, the SVU squad takes drastic measures to find Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her abductor (Pablo Schreiber) after days go by with no word from her. In the second hour, an abandoned child leads the SVU to a dangerous kidnapper and more victims.

“Modern Family” (Season 5 premiere, ABC): In the special one-hour premiere, the family says goodbye to summer. Phil (Ty Burrell) and Claire (Julie Bowen) try to orchestrate a kids-free week by coordinating Luke’s (Nolan Gould) camp with Haley’s (Sarah Hyland) beach trip and Alex’s (Ariel Winter) volunteering excursion, while Jay (Ed O’Neill) and Gloria (Sofia Vergara) prep Manny (Rico Rodriguez) for his first solo trip to Colombia and Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) make it a summer to remember. Could that include wedding bells?

10 p.m. ET/PT:

“CSI” (Season 14 premiere, CBS): D.B. Russell (Ted Danson) leads the CSI team on a hunt to find Morgan (Elisabeth Harnois) and Ellie Brass (Teal Redmann) following their kidnapping by a ritualistic killer.

“Nashville” (Season 2 premiere, ABC): After the crash in last season’s finale, Rayna (Connie Britton) lies in a coma, while Deacon (Charles Esten) awaits a pending jail sentence.  Teddy (Eric Close) is still reeling with news about Peggy’s (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) pregnancy, while Maddie (Lennon Stella) turns to Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) after learning the truth of her paternity. Elsewhere, Gunnar (Sam Palladio) and Scarlett (Clare Bowen) turn to friends for support after the proposal.

“South Park” (Season 17 premiere, Comedy Central): Cartman infiltrates the NSA and is upset by what he discovers in his personal file. Elsewhere, Butters finds a new audience for his prayers.
