alec baldwin msnbc pulls up late gi MSNBC pulls Alec Baldwin's talk show after recent outburstAfter another public outburst laden with homophobic slurs, Alec Baldwin has had his late-night talk show “Up Late” pulled from MSNBC’s schedule on Friday (Nov. 15).

Baldwin’s show will sit out two Fridays on the network, which seems like little more than a slap on the wrist, but at least it’s something. The hotheaded actor released a statement on his show’s website, apologizing once again for his actions. “I did not intend to hurt or offend anyone with my choice of words, but clearly I have – and for that I am deeply sorry. Words are important. I understand that, and will choose mine with great care going forward. What I said and did this week, as I was trying to protect my family, was offensive and unacceptable. Behavior like this undermines hard-fought rights that I vigorously support. I understand ‘Up Late’ will be taken off the schedule for tonight and next week,” he writes, adding, “I want to apologize to my loyal fans and to my colleagues at msnbc – both for my actions and for distracting from their good work. Again, please accept my apology.”

The move is a response to Baldwin’s actions outside his Manhattan apartment on Thuesday, a few hours after winning his court battle against accused stalker Genevieve Sabourin. After a photographer got too close to his family, Baldwin allegedly called the man a “c***sucking f**.”

After TMZ released video footage of the incident, Baldwin took to Twitter to insist that he simply called the photog a “c***sucking fathead,” which seems highly unlikely.

Do you think Baldwin’s actions deserve a more severe punishment?
