Hide your cellphones because supermodel Naomi Campbell is not pleased.
Cadbury is now enduring the wrath of Campbell, 39, after they used her name in an ad for their Dairy Milk Bliss bar. The chocolate company’s ad reads, “Move over, Naomi, there’s a new diva in town. I’m the world’s most pampered bar.”
According to The Independent, Campbell says, “I am shocked. It’s upsetting to be described as chocolate, not just for me, but for all black women and black people. I do not find any rumor in this. It is insulting and hurtful.”
Cadbury, which is owned by Kraft, has refused to pull the ads and Campbell is reportedly considering “every option available.” A spokesperson for Cadbury says the ad was “a light-hearted take on the social pretensions of Cadbury Dairy Milk Bliss.”
Cadbury was referencing Campbell’s notorious anger issues in the ad. In 2008, the British supermodel pleaded guilty to assaulting two police officers. She also pleaded guilty to hitting her housekeeper with a BlackBerry in 2009 and in 1998 she pleaded guilty to assaulting her assistant with a telephone. She was also accused of beating an assistant in 2005 with her cellphone.
