maya rudolph show nbc 'The Maya Rudolph Show' will finally air on NBC May 19

Maya Rudolph is coming back to NBC for her very own special. “The Maya Rudolph Show” will debut in May and brings together a very impressive and funny roster of guests.
Joining Rudolph for the special, which will be a return to the variety show format, are Andy Samberg, Kristen Bell, Fred Armisen, Chris Parnell, Craig Robinson and Sean Hayes. Additionally, Janelle Monae will be there as a special musical guest and Raphael Saadiq will be Rudolph’s bandleader.
The special, which is executive produced by Rudolph’s former “Saturday Night Live” boss Lorne Michaels, has been in the works for a long time. Following the demise of “Up All Night” midway through last season, Rudolph expressed interest in hosting a variety show. The network ordered a pilot in fall 2013, supposedly to air following the Winter Olympics.

That date didn’t happen, obviously. “The Maya Rudolph Show” will instead premiere following “The Voice” on  Monday (May 19) at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
