netflix damages creators new series Netflix and 'Damages' creators team for new psychological thriller

Netflix has ordered yet another original series. This latest project, described as a “psychological thriller,” comes from “Damages” creators Todd A. Kessler, Glenn Kessler and Daniel Zelman.

According to a press release about the show, the untitled series will follow a family of adult siblings whose lives are upended when their “black sheep brother” returns home. This is apparently a story that the trio of creators has been dreaming up for a while.

“We’ve always wanted to put our spin on a family saga and examine universal themes of family in a way that has never been seen before on television. The series is a tightly wound thriller that explores the complex bonds between parents and children, brothers and sisters, and the rivalries, jealousies, and betrayals at the core of every family,” the Kesslers and Zelman say in a statement.

The 13-episode first season will head into production in early 2014. Kessler, Zelman and Kessler will serve as executive producers of the show, which is coming from Sony Pictures Television. This project comes after the successful runs of Netflix’s first batch of original shows, including “House of Cards,” “Orange Is The New Black” and “Hemlock Grove.”
